All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Make it a practice to read God’s Word every day. Keep a notebook and pen with your Bible and jot down your thoughts as you read and His Spirit speaks to you.
Below are some tools to help you. (Click on the topic below to open the file, then click on the BACK arrow at the top left to get back to this page.)
SOAP – Journal your thoughts as you read Scripture with the SOAP outline:
S – Scripture verse (Write out the verse.)
O – Observation (What does it say?)
A – Application (How does it apply to me?)
P – Prayer (Write a brief prayer.)
You do not have to write long paragraphs. Just a sentence or two will do for each one.
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. ~ Isaiah 55:10-11
